Demolding Solution for Pebax Material Products

Product Requirements:
This medical surgical consumable has dimensions of D2.4 × 15 mm. The part is small, with tight tolerance requirements. The mold features a 1 × 2 cavity configuration.
The material is medical‑grade Pebax 3533 + 30% barium sulfate (BaSO₄). This material tends to stick to the mold during production, so the ejection method must be carefully considered in the mold design.

Mold Solution:
To meet the product requirements, a detailed mold flow analysis was performed before mold manufacturing, which determined the precise gate location to ensure uniform filling of the part. Given the special characteristics of this new material, the mold design incorporated a specific mold steel and a specialized surface treatment. In addition, the mold opening sequence and ejection method were rationally designed. These measures perfectly solved the issue of material sticking to the mold.

Injection Molding Production Precautions:

Maintain cleanliness of the surrounding environment and all related equipment during injection molding.

Control the ejection parameters appropriately.

During production, perform regular maintenance on venting channels, mold surfaces, etc.

Result Feedback:

The mold was trialed using the injection parameters derived from the mold flow analysis. The part achieved mass production readiness at T1, and the customer was extremely satisfied.
